We often use unfamiliar words or acronyms in our communication. We have compiled a glossary of terms to make communicating easier.
Base 10 or Numicon
A scaffold to use in Maths. An object that can be held to represent a number.
CVC
Consonant, vowel, consonant.
A three letter word made up of a consonant, a vowel and then a consonant. For example: mum, dog, cat
KS2
Key Stage 2
Children in Years 3 to 6.
PSHE
Personal, Social and Health Education
A topic taught in school.
RSE
Relationships and Sex Education
A core-component of PSHE lessons.
RWI
The phonics scheme used at Dronfield Junior School
SPAG
Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar
TA
Teaching and Learning Assistant
An adult in class that supports the class teacher.
